After 35 years in the television news business Wendall Anschutz is a familiar face to most Kansas Citians. Today he finds relaxation and reward in a field far-removed from the fast pace of the newsroom. On doctor's orders to slow down, Wendall started painting in oil following a stroke in 1989. His current passion is scenes of his native Kansas, with its plateaus and river valleys, golden fields of wheat, postrock fences and farmsteads and the often-dominating sky. |
