Seeing Eye Cat

Here's what the article says: Cashew, my 14 year old yellow lab, is blind and deaf. Her best friend is Libby, 7, her seeing-eye cat. Libby steers Cashew away from obstacles and leads her to her food. Every night she sleeps next to her. The only time they're apart is when we take Cashew out for a walk. Without this cat, we know Cashew would be lost and very, very lonely indeed. At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty. The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the 'apex predator', can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and 'survival of the pack mentality' bred into the canines. Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator. Not for the squeamish! Seriously, close your eyes if this kind of thing freaks you out! - - - - - - Ok, You can open your eyes now! Pink Dachshund Puppy

This dachshund dog is fostering this cute little guy for another mom who couldn't take care of him. He had his eyes closed, but now they are open. He is just a little bigger than her pups. She loves him more than the "other" puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest puppy ever because she licks him all the time. This is "Pink." Pink and the puppies nursing. He nurses all the time. Sleeping with his "siblings." He is so cute. Tink (the mama dog) is very protective over Pink. She keeps him close to her. Ok, so is that adorable and heartwarming or what?

Call of the Wild

Striking images of a wild polar bear playing with sled dogs in the wilds of Canada's Hudson Bay. The photographer, Norbert Rosing, was sure that he was going to see the end of his huskies when the polar bear materialized out of the blue, as it were. Obviously it was a well-fed bear. The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.
