Enchanted Playhouse
This cool playhouse was built by a dad for his daughter. It's not really a "tree house," because it was built on top of a 1200 year old giant Redwood stump. As you can see, he even installed a cool stairway that goes up through the middle. This kitchen "sink" shows how much love went into the construction. The whole story, complete with pictures of the original stump, how it was all accomplished, along with more pictures of the interior and architectural details, can be found at Parallel Design. It's pretty cool, and worth checking out. |

O Christmas Tree!
How about a Christmas Tree that's a little bit different this year! This one is hand knitted! How about this one made from bottles? Better yet, here's one made out of books!! And then there's the ladder and lights tree... It's kind of cool. I think this one could be called the "Handy Man Special." Or, for a completely different look, you could go for this upside down tree. It’s $600 and is currently sold out at Hammacher Schlemmer |

Baobab Trees
These strange and interesting trees originated in Africa. They store water in their trunks and tend to fluctuate in size depending on the time of year and rainfall amounts. Aren't they cool looking?![]() ![]() ![]() Among villages in the Zambezi Valley it is believed that when the world was young the Baobabs were upright and proud. However, for some unknown reason they lorded over the lesser growths. The Gods then became angry and uprooted the Baobabs, thrusting them back to the ground where they landed upside down but continued to grow. Evil spirits are now said to haunt the sweet white flowers and anyone who picks one will be eaten by a lion. Drink water in which the tree’s seeds have been soaked though, and you will be safe from a crocodile attack! More interesting information on this amazing tree can be found here. |
